3 Sure-Fire Ways to Improve Your Workday

Here we are. Another Monday. Another week ahead of us to conquer. And since our mission at GoDecals/Graphic Solutions is “Guiding your business to great results” we wanted to share a few of our favorite productivity tips.

Feel the rhythm!

Mark McGuinness, an author, poet, and coach for creatives, says to pay attention to your daily work rhythms. “Notice when you have the most energy during the day, and dedicate those valuable periods to your most important creative work.”

As a morning person, I am full of energy when I get to the office, but I often end up spending all that energy on checking my emails instead of tackling creative challenges. It’s time to “feel the rhythm” and adjust my daily workflow!

The Dead Parrot Sketch takes work.

John Cleese, one of the zany crew behind Monty Python’s Flying Circus, once said. “Creativity is not a talent. It is a way of operating."

That’s something we take seriously at Graphic Solutions. It’s easy to break the world up into sections and say that some people are “creatives” while others aren’t. The truth is, creativity is a method, a discipline - something that can be fostered and developed through hard work.

Consistency is Key

Blogger and author Gretchen Rubin brought us this simple yet profound truth: “What I do every day matters more than what I do once in a while."

If I work out really hard once a month it will never benefit me as much as getting a small amount of exercise every day. Our daily habits matter! Building a consistent work ethic will pay dividends.

How about you? Do you have any favorite words of wisdom regarding productivity? We’d love to hear them and help you with your next creative project.

The quotes from today’s post all came from a great book called “Manage Your Day-To-Day: Build Your Routine, Find Your Focus & Sharpen Your Creative Mind” from the folks at 99U. (We are not receiving any compensation from them.)

Let’s talk about what’s next for you! Whether it’s promotional materials, design, or creative problem-solving, we’re here to help!
