New research performed by Vital Farms, a company that supplies eggs from only pasture-raised hens, showed that egg labels tend to confuse shoppers. The truth is, many egg labels really aren't certified or regulated in a stringent manner. Most of them are driven by creative advertising campaigns that trick customers into thinking they're purchasing the healthiest eggs.
After more than 600 consumers were surveyed, the data showed that people were more often looking for other "healthy" egg labels and not the healthiest, most regulated type of egg: "pasture raised." These eggs come from hens that have free space to roam in open, outdoor fields and have a completely natural diet full of green vegetables. No other egg label meets these qualifications.
